… Welcome to the homepage of “Reserva Ecologica – Cordillera de los Altos.”
Susanne and Roland would like to thank you for your interest in this extraordinary undertaking.
Our approximately 38 hectare large grounds are located in the highlands of the “Cordillera de lost Altos,” a chain of hills in western Paraguay which extend from north to south, south of the city of Caacupé.
The grounds are partly flat, but include two hills and several lookout points. It is covered with lush vegetation, including a variety of grassed, shrubs and bushes as well as various trees, among those, several fruit trees, and, naturally, palm trees.
At the moment, the land is being cared for by our “capatas” and his family who use and farm the land for their own benefit.
We are planning to develop – in several phases and considering ecological perspectives – a self-sustaining retreat with diverse adventure and recreation possibilities (lookout platforms in the trees, suspension bridges, climbing towers, horseback outings, bar-b-q grills, natural swimming pond, tracks for horse riding) for locals and vacationers. We also hope to provide more opportunities to explore nature and her flora and fauna as well at the opportunity to expand ones own senses.
For those would prefer to take it at a slower pace, there are numerous nature paths which will lead you to our various lookout points from which one can watch the beauties of the landscape of the Cordilleren or enjoy the view of Caacupé or the Ypacaraí Sea.
In addition to that, we will offer a few apartments and bungalows for overnight guests. The first steps in this direction have been made, but we are not yet so far along that we can open for the public.
